Chris Helme, 'Pleased'

It's been an absolute privilege to supply the cover art for Chris Helme's new single 'Pleased'. You can listen to and download his track by following the link below!

Missdavinalee promo booklet

Missdavinalee were after a booklet to go along with their new single to keep people informed about what they've been doing. It's going to be printed on brown paper and should look something like this!

Getting my Christmas craft on

Hmm... it may be an idea to wait with the other pics until after the 25th!

Small Things

Seeing as the A2 pics take a while to complete, I'm going to be doing a lot more small images at the same time. So here goes! They'll go up for sale when I set up an Etsy store.

Biro drawing

Not too sure what this will end up like... winging it for the moment!

Bedbugs

This is what I've come up with for missdavinalee's new single artwork. So far. 'Bedbugs' is catchy as hell, you can listen to a preview as part of a HP viral campaign here:

Tanquoo: Rodent-gone-rogue street art project

With all this artiness floating around the house, one of my rabbits Tanqueray has gone rogue. To keep up with Tanquoo you can befriend him on facebook:

Squid/Neuron

Betentacled and belligerent.

Pin-up Portrait

A friend asked me to come up with a portrait of her boyfriend as a nineteen-fifties housewife for their new house, and this is the result!

Rabbit of Destiny?

I'm still undecided as to how the finished version will look... it's a toss up between adding an abstract background or drawing the missing eye on a seperate piece of paper with a bunch of cosmic things inside.

He was meant to be over-dramatically dubbed the 'rabbit of destiny', and looks eerily like my rabbit (Johnny)Utah who was purchased about a month after completing the drawing. I prefer to think of him as the 'Rabbit of self-fulfilling-prophecy', but it's not quite as punchy.

Artsprojekt

Fun fun my shop has gone live on the Artsprojekt website... have a peek! There are hundreds of great picture-making folk hawking their wares so it's worth a perusing.

Beard Party

This is my celebration of beardiness. As I suffer from acute beard envy (if I'm lucky I may sprout a fine moustache in my old age akin to my grandmother's), admiring the facial follicles of others makes me inexplicably happy. Apart from spotting a fine dog in the street, a beard is the only other thing guaranteed to make me stop and stare inappropriately. Now you can have a good stare without anyone seeing you, enjoy!

Work in progress...

... and the finished line-drawing!

Northern Cardinal

A tattoo design for a friend. Hopefully I'll be able to add a photo of the done deed in a little while.

The first draft of the artwork for missdavinalee's debut single 'Come on!'. You can open your ear to the notes that go with the picture at

Soiree

Mermaids enjoying a civilised get-together.

Lionel the Lion-faced Boy

This is Lionel's second appearance. He managed to escape the whale by giving it a short, sharp kick to the shins and a poke in the eye. Being the star of many a freak-show, Lionel has become rather self-important and demanding. He felt the whale stole the limelight last time and ordered the rightful balance to be restored.

Lionel has taken the longest to finish out of any of my images so far. The shading has been agonising! Here's a screen shot of the work in progress:

Love and Guts

A Love Story. With good shoes.

Dudek

Bugger worms, these are far tastier...

Jack Lumber

Jack Lumber likes his plaid and lives in the woods. He tries very hard to be dignified, sporting his impressive beardage, but the critters romp on his antlers with utter disrespect.

Sea-Foxes

The Sea-foxes are wreckless, debonair gentlemen living the high-life in the big blue. I don't know what it is they've done this time, but the diver and his guinea-fowl are totally unimpressed.

Peacock Mutants

An ornithologist's bewildered hallucination, parched and exhausted after three days perched up a tree trying to catch sight of the illusive Inyo California Towhee.

Lionel and the Whale

This is Lionel the Lion-faced boy. He was a spectacle at victorian freak shows. He seemed a little too normal so I added an extra head. Lionel likes the whale, and the whale thinks he's alright too. In fact, he likes him so much he's trying to kill him. The world is a cruel place and the whale is trying to spare Lionel the trauma.

Tiger Vapours

This is a tiger. His legs are in a muddle so he floats around instead.
